10 Days Kenya Birding Safari Holiday.

Highlights: This tour explores wonderful Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its myriad bird life as well as a guarantee of rhino spotting, the arid North with Lake Baringo, Western Kenya into the ever green Kakamega Forest with its unique fauna and flora specialities, including the world’s slowest mammal, the Potto; the world famous Maasai Mara Reserve.

Day 1: Arrival and Hotel Transfer.
On arrival, you will be met and received at the airport by your driver guide from African Crane Safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight(depending on the time of your arrival, otherwise if time allows, you will transfer to Nairobi national park or the giraffe centre or the famous elephant orphanage, returning for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early morning breakfast, depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru for this day’s activity bird watching and animal viewing of species like: Lesser and Greater Flamingoes, Rupell`s long tailed starling, Rock Thrush, African Fish Eagle,Green wood hoopoes, Tawny Eagles, among other non-resident winter species that migrate here and animals like: the White Rhino, the rare Rothschild's Giraffe.

After your picnic lunch at the Cliff picnic site where you may well share it with Black kites, Cliff chats and Rock hyraxes, proceeding later to Lake Baringo, arriving to relax at leisure, dinner and overnight (Lake Baringo Country Club)

Day 3: Lake Baringo
After an early morning breakfast, explore Lake Baringo for the rest of the day with your packed lunch or return for a lunch break at your hotel. Returning late evening to your hotel relaxing at leisure, dinner and overnight (Lake Baringo Country Club)

Day 4: Lake Baringo – Kakamega Forest
After an early morning warm up tea/coffee, you will transfer  for yet another birding experience adding your bird list to that already identified, this time including: the Little Weaver and D'Arnaud's Barbet, Spotted Thick-knee, Slender-tailed Nightjar, Verreaux's Eagle Owl, White-faced Scops Owl, Heuglin's Courser, the beautiful Sunbird, Northern Masked, Little Jackson's and Vitelline Masked Weavers, Bristle-crowned Starling, Hemprich's and Jackson's Hornbills, mouse-coloured Penduline Tit, Brown-tailed Rock Chat, among other species.

Returning later for a full breakfast before transferring to Kakamega Forest that allows you an en-route birding along the spectacular Kerio Valley where you may spot the Little Bee Eater and Fan Tailed Raven dinner and overnight (Rondo Retreat)

Day 5: Kakamega - Kisumu
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to yet again another birding paradise(Kakamega forest) with an incredible bird life including among others: the Great Blue and Black-billed Turacos, Grey Parrot (the forest has about 18 pairs of grey Parrots- the only remaining population in Kenya), Yellow-billed, Grey-throated, Yellow-spotted and Hairy-breasted Barbets, Blue and Dusky Crested Flycatchers, Scaly-throated and Thick-billed Honeyguides, Banded and White-chinned Prinias,Turner's Eremomela, Chapin's Flycatcher, several Greenbuls and Illadopsises, Bar-tailed Trogons, Yellowbill, among other species. The forest is also home to the endangered DeBrazza monkey and the slowest mammal on earth the Potto.

Lunch will be served at your hotel before transferring to Kisumu on Lake Victoria arriving for a late evening birding around the Ksumu swamps in search of Lake Victoria species at ‘Hippo Point’ like; Wing-snapping Cisticola, Carruther's Cisticola, Black-headed and Papyrus Gonoleks, Swamp Flycatcher, Papyrus and Yellow-fronted Canaries, Black-billed Barbet, Greater Swamp Warbler, White-browed and Blue-headed Coucal among other species. Dinner and overnight (The Imperial Hotel Kisumu)

Day 6: Kisumu – Maasai Mara
After an early breakfast you will transfer to Maasai mara with en-route birding along the swamps around Lake Victoria and the plains en route to your lodge as you arrive in the heart of Africa's Great Plains, the Masai Mara with about 1,672 square kilometers of un spoilt wilderness with the highest concentration of animals and birds in the world like the Common Stone Chat, White Bellieb Bustards, Usambiro Barbet, Yellow throated Long Claw, among other species. Dinner and overnight (Masai Mara Serena lodge)

Day 7: Maasai Mara
After an early warm up tea/coffee, you will transfer to explore the plains of the ‘New York’ of the natural world in search of the prolific animal and bird species such as: the endangered Black rhino, Elephants, Leopards, Cheetah, Lions, spotted hyenas, Topis, impala, Thompson gazelle, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and wildebeest among others and birds like: Kori Bustard (heaviest flying bird in the world), Ostrich, among others as luck plays on your side. Returning to a relax at your lodge, dinner and overnight (Serena Lodge)

Day 8: Maasai Mara – Mombasa (Relaxation)
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Mombasa with an en-route game viewing opportunity in Mara as you head to Mombasa for a relaxed/leisure treat, dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Mombasa
On this day, you will spend the rest of it at leisure, (Breakfast-Lunch -Dinner and overnight.)

Day 10: Airport transfer.
On this day, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home (depending on your departure time).
